Since 1984, when the first sisters started the experience of ‘Casa Betania’ with P. Pancrazio, the first temporary vows of poverty, chastity and obedience were pronounced in private forms in the Bishop’s hands. The adventure was turning into a new form of consecrated life in the Church.
Nel 1989 the Fraternity went through a time of mourning as well as grace for the death of two sisters: Ada, who had offered herself as a victim for the priests, died suddenly of an ictus, while Floriana died of a tumour, after a long calvary during which she had offered herself completely to the Lord, asking Him, in particular, to bless the community with many vocations… and He heeded her prayer and to the present He has blessed and is blessing our Institute with numerous and young vocations.
Starting from 1991 the first perpetual vows of consecration were professed.
On 6th December 1992 consecrated brothers and sisters first wore the religious dress of the Fraternity: the grey/light blue frock born from the union of the colours that express our double nature: Franciscan and Marian. That most important day was made even more special by the presence of our Bishop, the Servant of God Mons. Antonio Bello who, despite the great suffering caused by the disease which would lead him to death shortly after, accepted joyfully the invitation to give us that frock with his own hands during the celebration of the Eucharist.
